A violent collision at a Joo Koon junction on 11 July sent a car flipping onto its side, leaving two male drivers injured and hospitalised. The crash, captured on dashcam footage and widely circulated on social media, has sparked concerns over road safety and potential red-light violations.

Collision Turns Violent at Industrial Junction

The incident took place at the junction of Benoi Road and Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, a commonly trafficked industrial area in Singapore’s West. In a video uploaded to Youtube, a black minivan is seen attempting a right turn when it slams into the side of another black car travelling straight through the intersection.

The impact was so forceful that it spun the car onto its side, with debris strewn across the road moments after. Some online commenters speculated that the minivan may have beaten the red light, but this remains unconfirmed by the authorities.

Two Men Injured, Conscious When Taken to Hospital

In response to media queries, the Singapore Police Force confirmed the collision, stating that both drivers involved were men, aged 41 and 55. Fortunately, they were conscious when conveyed to the hospital, though the extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.

Police investigations are ongoing, and no arrests or charges have been announced at the time of writing.
