Another family member of Joseph Schooling, this time his cousin, @peiyenleong on instagram has wrote a post dedicated to his fighting spirit.
She reminds us also that behind all his triumphs and failures, he is also only human.
Here is what she said
“What people see: a lost match, a failed mission to the nation, a disappointing minute, a chance to join the bandwagon and speak their two cents with mean disheartening comments.
What I see is a guy who had every possible obstacle thrown to him over the years and he faced them with a strong front and mind.
A guy who is just like any one of us, who has good and bad days in life.
A guy who I proudly call him family any time, any day – whether he’s at the top or bottom, Olympic pool or home, swimmer or not, he will always be my couz. And I’m so proud of him.”
