According to reports from residents staying around Block 534 Jurong West Street 52, large groups of crows have been gathering around trees near the HDB blocks daily, causing disturbances from early morning onwards.

One resident, identified as 57-year-old Mr Pang who works in the energy industry, said the constant crow noises have been affecting his sleep, especially after returning home from night shifts.

He explained that the crows begin cawing very early in the morning and continue throughout the day, making it difficult for residents to rest peacefully.

Mr Pang added that he has already raised the issue with the town council after noticing the problem worsening recently.

Residents Say Crows Becoming More Aggressive

According to Shin Min Daily News, When reporters visited the area last week, several residents confirmed that the crow population in the estate appeared to have increased significantly in recent months.

Some residents also claimed the birds were no longer just noisy, but had started behaving aggressively towards people walking nearby.

One resident recalled a frightening incident where a crow allegedly swooped down suddenly while he was carrying his young grandson downstairs.

He said he immediately shielded the child and quickly ran away after the bird flew directly towards them.

Another resident, a 60-year-old retiree known as Aya, shared that the crow issue became more noticeable earlier this year.

She explained that because she lives in a corridor unit, she is frequently woken up by loud crow noises in the morning.

She also said the birds sometimes perch along the corridors and leave droppings behind, making cleaning difficult and unpleasant for residents.

Town Council Working With NParks To Remove Crow Nests

In response to queries, the West Coast–Jurong West Town Council said they are aware of the issue and understand residents’ concerns.

A spokesperson stated that the town council will work closely with the National Parks Board to identify and remove crow nests within the estate.

The spokesperson added that the authorities remain committed to resolving the matter and will continue monitoring the situation closely.

Crow-related complaints are not new in Singapore, with previous incidents involving aggressive crows attacking residents in areas such as Kranji and Jurong West also making headlines over the years.

Many netizens online have since joked that some crows in Singapore are becoming “hooligan crows”, while others urged authorities to step up population control measures before more residents get injured.
