Kena high-pressure upsell at chain aesthetic clinics every single time – anyone else trapped in these endless packages?

Need to rant a bit here.

So a few months ago, I signed up for a scar treatment package with this one huge aesthetics clinic (you guys definitely know which one, they got branches everywhere in heartland malls, everywhere you turn also can see). I went because price wise, honestly quite cheap compared to private dermatologists. But bro, cheap really no good, good really no cheap.

First thing I noticed: 99% of their staff across all their branches are from Malaysia. Nothing against Malaysians, but it feels like a whole mass-recruitment operation where everyone is trained to follow the exact same high-pressure sales script.

Every single time I lie down on the bed doing treatment, they will start the pitch. “Wah dear, your skin actually need more sessions, today we got promo if you top up 10 to 20 more sessions, only a few thousand!” Mind you, my current package HAVEN’T EVEN FINISHED YET. Every 15 minutes ask me to top up, upgrade, buy product. Cannot even enjoy the session in peace, full-on mental torture. I tell them no, they will change tone and start giving black face.

And you know what’s their trick? They deliberately make the treatment damn weak. Instead of giving you 1 or 2 high-strength, effective sessions (like proper CO2 laser or subcision), they break it down into 10 to 15 super weak, micro-treatments. Then they tell you some bullshit theory like “slow and steady wins the race, skin need time to adapt.”

Adapt my foot la. I tell you, doing it like this is useless. Your skin just builds tolerance, and the scars don’t even lift because the energy level is too low to stimulate proper collagen. It’s purely a strategy to make the ala-carte price look cheap on paper and lock you into a perpetual package loop.

Once my current package finishes, I am 100% walking away and never turning back. Better to save up and go to a real derm or proper doctor who does it right in 1 or 2 sessions than waste time and money suffering high-pressure sales tactics every few weeks.

Anyone else kena the same thing from these chain clinics? How do you guys politely tell them to shut up during treatment?
