A video emerged online showing a Kia and a Mercedes speeding down an expressway before ultimately crashing inside a tunnel.
The incident purportedly happened on 6 January at about 1.12am.
The Kia Forte and the Mercedes Hatchback were seen in the dashcam footage speeding down the Central Expressway (CTE).
At a later timestamp of the video, when the camcar drove through the CTE tunnel, the two cars were seen crashed inside the tunnel at the Havelock Road exit.
One of the cars had collided with a pillar inside the tunnel, with the impact being so great that the license plate was ripped off.
The other car had flipped and turned turtle, with a man in a black t-shirt and blue shorts peaking to some construction workers.
The accident slowed down traffic in the tunnel as workers who were performing road works in the area, helped to clear the wreckage and usher traffic.
The SCDF confirmed that they were alerted to the accident along CTE heading towards AYE, before the Havelock Road exit at about 1.30am.
One person was assessed for minor injuries and refused to be sent to the hospital.
