KING OF THE ROAD CYCLING ON EXPRESSWAY DESPITE “NO ENTRY” SIGNS

A video emerged online showing an errant cyclist riding on a busy expressway without a regard for the law.

This is despite “no entry” signs for cyclists being put at more than 50 expressway entry points by the LTA since October last year.

The incident happened on 2 June at about 4.52pm, on the SLE near the Woodlands Avenue 2 exit, and was captured on the dashcam of a passing vehicle.

The cyclist was seen in the video riding on the left side of the expressway, as cars zoomed past him.

Potential penalties

It is an offence to ride bicycles and electronic bikes on the expressways, persons caught riding bicycles on the expressways face a fine of $150.
