A South Korean livestreamer was killed in a horrific road accident while broadcasting live to his followers, with approximately 150 viewers reportedly witnessing the fatal incident in real time.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, had set out on an ambitious cycling challenge that would see him travel from Busan to Seoul within three days. The journey was being streamed live on social media, allowing fans to follow his progress and interact with him throughout the trip.
However, the challenge ended in tragedy when the cyclist was struck by a heavy goods vehicle while travelling between Daegu and Sangju.
According to local reports, the livestreamer had arranged for a friend to accompany him in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) as a safety escort during the long-distance ride.
The pair were travelling along the route when a 3.5-tonne truck approached from behind.

Preliminary investigations suggest the truck driver may have failed to notice the road conditions ahead while attempting to overtake.
The vehicle reportedly first collided with the accompanying SUV before continuing forward and crashing into the cyclist.
The impact caused catastrophic injuries, leaving the cyclist trapped beneath the vehicle.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead after being rescued. His friend, who was driving the escort vehicle, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
