Renting a home or a room in Singapore is common for many who are coming to Singapore to work, but sometimes many of the tenants are unlucky and faced a landlord that is considered a nightmare.
A 24-year-old woman became a victim of a crime after the landlord peeped at her showering and took a photo of her.

According to Shin Min Daily News, The defendant is a 65-year-old Chinese man, and the 24-year-old victim girl is the defendant’s tenant. To protect her identity, a gag order has been issued and the judge ordered the media not to report any information that would reveal the girl’s identity, including the defendant’s name.
The incident took place at 8:10 pm on August 21, 2020, when the victim went to the kitchen bathroom to take a shower, she notice that the bucket in the bathroom was glowing.
After careful inspection, she found that there was a mobile phone hidden inside, and the recording function had been activated. After the victim got dressed, she questioned the landlord and a Police report was eventually made.
The defendant pleaded guilty in court and was sentenced to 10 weeks in jail.
The offence of insulting the modesty of a woman carries an imprisonment term of up to one year, or a fine, or both.
