A 39 year old man who was a former lecturer pleaded guilty on Monday (June 15) to taking upskirt videos of his student.
On March 6 last year, he had requested for his student to meet him at a vacant classroom. He then proceed to take photographs of her with his mobile phone, informing her that the intention was to use the photographs for a class activity.
When she agreed, he instructed her to pose blindfolded with a handkerchief and with her feet apart. After she blindfolded herself and posed, the man took a photo from behind her back. He then approached her, put his phone between her legs and recorded a video.
When she took off the blindfold she was shocked to see her lecturer squatting right behind her, holding his mobile phone in between her legs, with the screen facing upwards.
She closed her legs, returned the handkerchief and lift. She informed her lecturer to delete the photos and he agreed. The student informed her guardian about the incident when she reached home and her guardian proceeded to call the lecturer.
He then texted the guardian and said it was a misunderstanding and that he had fumbled with his phone while adjusting it to take a photograph.
She lodged a police report in the evening of the same day.
The case is adjourned to a later date.
