A 29-year-old lift technician was carrying out repair works for a lift when he got trapped inside the lift shaft, he subsequently died.

The tragic accident happened on 27 February, at 450 North Bridge Road, and the SCDF and police were alerted at about 11.30am yesterday.
The worker was found trapped in a narrow gap between the lift carriage, and the metal support structure of the lift.
The SCDF took about 6 hours to extricate the stricken worker and it was a very complex and delicate operation where officers from the SCDF’s Disaster Assistance and rescue Team (CART) were activated.
The lift technician was pronounced dead at the scene at 5.30pm.
