LIFT TECHNICIAN STUCK AT BOTTOM OF LIFT SHAFT @ ORCHARD, RESCUED

A lift technician was stuck at the bottom of a lift shaft on 17 July at around 4.20pm.

The SCDF arrived at the scene and immediately deployed a latter from the first floor to access the shaft.

The technician sustained injuries to the right side of his body.

Rescuers from the elite DART team secured him onto a stretcher and rescued him out of the lift shaft with a hoisting system.

He was then sent to TTSH in an SCDF ambulance.

The incident happened at No. 290 Orchard Road.
