LOCAL BANK TERMINATES LOCAL SENIOR MANAGER. REPLACES WITH NATIVE INDIAN

Facebook user Daphne Lee recently took to Facebook to share her displeasure after she resigned from a local bank. She even witnessed on how a local senior manager was terminate before being replace by a native Indian.

“I am working in a Bank too. But had tendered my resignation W. E. F 1 Sept.

In the Bank, almost all top management are Native Indian. On the 2nd years with the bsnk, I witnessed a local senior manager left the bank as he was not promoted to Head of Dept, instead they bought in another native Indian to cover the position. The local senior manager ended up needed to teach the new HOD everything, even simple thing such as MAS regulations. And yes, he left the Bank with great disappointment.That’s the true incident happening in almost all MNC in Singapore today.In short, its not just about true competition. You know what is the true fact?

I had worked in the public sector and several private companies before. And there is one thing I observe, for Chinese boss or Head, they believe in capability of the workers. If you are capable, you get the job, regardless of race and nationality.But if its other race boss or Head, they mostly only promote the workers of their same race. The native Indian is the most obvious example.So don’t come tell me about real competition in the Bank. If UOB able to employ mostly local in their top Management, why DBS, SCB and etc can’t???Or you meant there isn’t “real competition” in UOB?

The fact is once the Bank got one native Indian regional head, then you will expect many native Indian Head of Department. This is what happened in DBS and SCB now. ”
