A video emerged online showing a traffic accident along Buangkok Green on Saturday (15 April) evening, involving a Toyota Dyna lorry.
The lorry had mounted up a kerb and driven along the grass patch before crashing into a lamp post at the side of the road, resulting in 6 people being sent to the hospital.
The Singapore Police Force said that they were alerted to the accident at about 6.30 pm in the evening, and 6 passengers between the ages of 20 and 47 were subsequently conveyed to Sengkang General Hospital for treatment following the accident.
The driver of the lorry, a 33-year-old man, is also currently assisting the police with their investigations into the accident.
Facebook page SG Road Vigilante shared a video fo the accident, showing the lorry driving along Buangkok Green after the junction of Hougang Avenue 4.
The lorry had its left turn signal blinking for a while before it swerved from the left lane and onto the kerb, crashing into the street lamp before coming to a halt.
The lampost then fell over from the impact and crashed onto the road.
The video was captured on the dashcam of another vehicle that was passing through, with the netizen subtitling his video (SIC):
“Along Buangkok Green Road outside IMH. I called 995 immediately and ambulance came really quickly. One of the guys had head injury but was conscious and sitting upright in the ambulance holding a cloth pressed on his head.”
The driver who captured the video also said that the lorry was carrying labour workers at the time, and that he is not sure if the driver was too tired or had meant to park the lorry on the grass patch.
