ICA officers at Woodlands checkpoint uncovered 1,120 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes hidden among cooking oil tins in a Malaysia-registered lorry on 12 Jul. The duty and GST evaded were $95,648.00 and $7,010.53 respectively. The case was referred to Singapore Customs for further investigations.

Our borders are our first line of defence in safeguarding Singapore’s security. The ICA will continue to conduct security checks to prevent smuggling attempts.
