
LTA said on 26 April that a $980 million contract for construction works for the Pasir Ris station on the Cross Island Line (CRL), which is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, has been awarded to a Korean joint venture, between Daewoo Engineering & Construction, as well as Dongah Geological Engineering.
The station is scheduled to open in 2030.
The two Korean companies will design and build the Pasir Ris interchange staion and its tunnels as well as make the changes required to the current Pasir Ris station.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction is building Stevens stations and its tunnels, while Dongah Geological Engineering is building Great World station and tunnels.
The CRL is Singapore’s 8th MRT line and is intended to connect major transport nodes.
