A 52-year-old man has been arrested following a series of incidents in Jurong West where multiple vehicles were discovered with damaged windscreens, raising concerns among residents and motorists in the area.

The case came to light after videos circulated online showing several cars with visibly cracked windscreens, suggesting deliberate damage rather than accidental causes. The footage quickly gained traction on social media, prompting public speculation over what had taken place.

In another clip, a man was seen holding an object while crossing a road before sitting under a tree nearby. Moments later, officers were observed approaching him cautiously, some equipped with protective shields, indicating a potentially volatile situation.

MAJOR POLICE RESPONSE IN INDUSTRIAL AREA

According to the Singapore Police Force, officers responded to a call for assistance at around 1:35pm on March 23. The location was identified as 18 Enterprise Road, situated within an industrial zone in Jurong West.

The presence of multiple officers, along with protective gear, suggests that authorities assessed the situation as potentially dangerous. Such responses are typically reserved for cases where there may be a risk to public safety or uncertainty about the suspect’s behaviour.

The man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of committing public nuisance and mischief, offences that can carry legal consequences under Singapore law, particularly when property damage is involved.

MAN CONVEYED TO HOSPITAL, INVESTIGATIONS ONGOING

The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that they were alerted to the same location at approximately the same time. Emergency responders attended to the situation near the junction of Enterprise Road and Fan Yoong Road.

Following the incident, the man was taken conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital for further medical assessment. Authorities have not disclosed whether injuries were sustained or if the hospital visit was precautionary.

Police investigations remain ongoing, and further details have yet to be released. It is currently unclear how many vehicles were affected or the extent of the damage caused.

Residents and business owners in the area are likely to remain vigilant as authorities continue their inquiries. Cases involving property damage and unpredictable behaviour often raise broader concerns about safety, particularly in industrial estates where heavy vehicle traffic is common.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of public vigilance and timely reporting, which enables law enforcement to respond quickly and prevent further escalation.
