A maid is currently under investigation for allegedly beating her employer’s dog to death in January. The employer, identified as Jason, found the 13-year-old poodle, named Boyboy, abandoned and injured in 2015 and took it home after rescuing it. Jason had installed CCTV cameras in his home to monitor Boyboy while he was at work, and it was this footage that revealed the abuse.
The man who posted the videos said:
“I am posting this incident on behalf of my distraught friend who recently hired a new helper to care for his home and pet when he’s away at work. The case is currently already being investigated by the authorities but we hope this post helps to raise awareness about the importance of checking on any helpers when they handle pets so that no other pet has to suffer this same cruel fate.
On 22nd Jan, my friend Jason (not his real name) went out to work as usual. That evening his girlfriend told him that his dog, Boyboy had passed on suddenly when she was napping.
Jason rushed to the crematorium to see his dog for the last time. He noticed that his dog died in a stiffened up posture like after a fit or after certain trauma, and upon cremation he noticed a crack in the remains of his skull.
Puzzled as his dog has always been in good health and hadn’t shown any signs of lethargy nor illness, Jason decided to check the CCTV to find out what exactly happened.
To his horror, his dog did not die of natural cause but was abused and whacked to death by his new helper. He downloaded the full footage of what happened within the few hours that led to the death of Boyboy. Jason instantly went to make a police report and also updated the agency on the acts of the helper.
The agency did not show any concern for the seriousness of the case and only asked if Jason made a police report. Thereafter they removed him from a group chat that was to be for conversing with the transfer of the new helper, on the 25th Jan after knowing that Jason has also reported the case to AVS.
The helper was employed with the primary task of caring for Boyboy and it is horrifying that she would resort to treating a helpless animal in such a way.
Jason has since reported this case to the police, AVS as well as SPCA and are currently assisting him with the investigations.
Jason approached me to share this on social media to warn other pet owners to always keep a CCTV around and also not to take our pets safety at home for granted. Our pets cannot speak for themselves.
We want justice for Boyboy and hope that the helper will be dealt with by the law with the highest possible punishment. Please help to share this so that no other pet has to suffer the same fate as Boyboy.
For those who are engaging help to assist in caring for your pets or even elderly or young children, please do have some safeguard on this, this post doesn’t insist of all being bad, but somehow there’s black sheep among.”
