Ms Li and her family hired a maid from Indonesia, Ina, to take care of her 82-year-old mother in February this year. The elderly mother suffered a stroke and went to the National University Hospital for surgery on July 12. She became a vegetative state after the operation and the maid was taking care of her.
Ms Li and her family went to her mother’s house at Block 104 on Gangsa Road in Bukit Panjang and found a credit card bill when she was sorting out the letters.
After she opened the letter she found that in addition to the payment transaction records to the hospital, there were dozens of transaction records of transfers to the electronic wallet Dash of SingTel.
No one in the family was aware of the transactions that were made using the card and a Police report was made.
After the police arrived, the maid blurts out the fact that she was the one who uses the credit card and even to the extend of retrieving the one-time-password from the victim’s phone.
