A male body in the waters near The Fullerton Bay Hotel was retrieved by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).SCDF was notified to an occurrence at 80 Collyer Quay around 3.15pm where a 78-year-old man had died in the water. It was informed that he had left behind his wallet and handphone behind.

SCDF officers piloted an underwater search and recovered the body which was enclosed up in a blue bag. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
