A 25-year-old man is set to appear in court on Monday (Aug. 31) over the alleged murder of a 29-year-old man in Tuas South.
The Singapore Police Force said the suspect will be charged with murder under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code 1871. The charge follows a fatal incident along Tuas South Street 15 towards Tuas South Avenue 14 on Saturday night (Aug. 29).
Police said they received a call for assistance at around 10.10pm after an incident was reported in the area. Officers were dispatched to the location, where they found a 29-year-old man lying motionless on the road.
A Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedic subsequently pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Suspect arrested within four hours
Police investigations led to the arrest of the 25-year-old man within four hours of the incident.
Preliminary investigations have established that the suspect and the deceased were known to each other. Authorities have not disclosed further details about their relationship or what allegedly happened before the fatal incident.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death remain under investigation as police work to establish the events leading up to the incident.
