Man, 30, found dead in waters off Yishun Dam

A 30-year-old man was found dead in the waters near Yishun Dam on the morning of Sept. 2, 2026.

The Singapore Police Force said it received a call for assistance along Yishun Avenue 1 at around 7.20am.

Responding to queries, the police said the man was found in the waters in the vicinity of the dam. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) subsequently deployed rescuers to retrieve him.

SCDF confirmed that its rescuers used rescue equipment to recover a body from the water.

An SCDF paramedic pronounced the man dead at the scene. The authorities have not released further details about the man’s identity.

Preliminary police investigations found no indication of foul play at this stage. The circumstances surrounding the man’s death have not been disclosed.

Authorities have not indicated whether the incident affected access to the dam or surrounding roads beyond the traffic congestion reported by members of the public.
