The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has identified a 32-year-old man who was allegedly filmed using a vaping device at Waterway Point in Punggol.
The incident reportedly took place on Aug. 30, 2026, at the mall’s Level 1 Village Square atrium, where a roadshow was being held.
Footage of the incident was subsequently circulated on social media, drawing attention after an eyewitness alleged that the man had been vaping in the busy mall.
Video shows man putting device to mouth
A video uploaded to social media on Sep. 22 showed a seated man holding what appeared to be a vaping device before bringing it to his mouth.
The footage was reportedly recorded at around 7.20pm, with other members of the public visible in the background.
According to the accompanying social media post, the person who submitted the footage alleged that the man was using the device despite people walking around the area.
The post also claimed that the man was working as a car salesman, although this detail has not been independently verified.
HSA subsequently provided an update on Sep. 25, confirming that it had identified the individual seen in the footage.
HSA following up on case
The authority has not publicly disclosed further details about the man’s identity or indicated what action may be taken against him.
Vaping devices and e-vaporisers are prohibited in Singapore, with authorities continuing enforcement efforts against their possession, use and supply.
Members of the public who come across suspected offences can report them to the relevant authorities, including HSA.
The latest case comes amid continued enforcement against vaping-related offences in Singapore, as authorities work to curb the use of prohibited vaping products.
