
A 24-year-old man was arrested by the police in connection with a fire in a recycling bin in Bukit Batok.
According to a statement from the Singapore Police Force, the police received a report at around 3:35 pm on Friday (October 30) that two recycling bins on the ground floor of Block 323 and Block 324 in Bukit Batok Street 33 were on fire. At around 10:55 that night, another notification was received that another recovery bin on the ground floor of Block 323 was on fire. Fortunately, no one was injured in these incidents.
After investigation, the Jurong Police Station officers grasped the identity of the man involved and quickly arrested the man within 24 hours.
The man involved will be charged in court tomorrow (November 2) for arson. If convicted, he will face up to seven years in prison and a fine.
