MAN ALLEGEDLY SCAM S$200,000 FROM WOMAN AND MADE HER PERFORM SEXUAL ACTS

33 years-old man allegedly threatened a woman stating that he will post videos of her online if she did not give the man money, have been arrested.

On 10 October 2021, the victim made a police report stating that she was being threatened by a man that she met on an online dating app.

Between February to October 2021, the man managed to threaten her of about S$200,000 after having videos against the victim. Videos were send to the man before she first met him in Malaysia.

Sometime last year, when the victim was in Malaysia, the man send a driver to pick her up and was first threatened by the man to perform sexual acts with his driver. The victim has no choice but to follow his demands.

After that meet-up, the victim came back to Singapore being afraid of her videos being circulated continued to transfer the man money to prevent him from posting the videos online.

The man was arrested on 28 January 2021 and will be charged on Saturday. Singapore Police Force (SPF) also stated that the man was believed to be involved in other cases involving the same type of extortions.

According to the police, anyone found guilty of extortion will be jailed for up to 7 years and caned.
