CAUTION USE AGAINST AMMELTZ YOKO YOKO GOLD
Hi everyone,
I’m sure most people would have heard or known of this brand but I would like to share what I’ve gone through applying AMMELTZ YOKO YOKO GOLD on myself so that it doesn’t happen to others. It started off with a very bad stiff neck so I decided to purchase this product to get rid or minimize the issue. If you’re not aware of how this product works, the ingredients contained are intended to produce a local sensation of warmth / coolness to relief pain.
I proceeded to apply the product 2-3 times a day (as advertised on the instructions) for a consecutive 5 days on the back of my neck, which does seem to have relieved some of that neck ache. However, to my horror, it has also caused a serious chemical burn at the crease of my neck, which my friend noticed and informed me on the 4th / 5th day itself which by then was too late. Please refer to the email from the HSA personnel on the above (i.e. certifying that such OTC topical pain reliever does indeed cause burns albeit in rare instances (lucky me I guess?).
If you’re asking why did I not notice it myself – it was because it was at the back of my neck and it is near impossible to have realized it on my own. Furthermore, I merely felt that the warmth / coolness was working as intended to relief that pain and I have not suffered any chemical burns before as I have only applied products on my face and I would definitely know when to stop applying something before turning bad.
Long story short, the various doctors that I have consulted did certify that it was a chemical burn and caused by the ingredients listed in the product and I have approached the company responsible for the product for further advice such as conducting a product study and compensation in covering my medical treatments as it has caused me thousands of dollars in order to fix the chemical burn, in which I have readily provided all the receipts to them as proof. In addition to this, the company expected me to produce a proof of how it was really due to their product but would the doctor letters not suffice? If I had to do a skin biopsy (i.e. the only way I can think of), it would be additional cost and another scar. All I can say is that the damage is done.
Of course, the company has insisted that their product is all good (with no official result shared) and they have only offered a mere goodwill payment, which is less than half of what I have incurred on my own, in order to close off the case and relinquish their parts in this.
To close it off, this $10 product has caused me so much more in terms of medical expenses and the journey to fix this ain’t easy together with dealing with the company, honestly it’s really something I never imagined. I really hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
