A 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly standing outside a Bukit Batok residential unit and using a bamboo pole to pickup and steal a handbag inside.

The handbag was sitting on a chair in the living room of the home.
The man fled after the house’s occupant screamed at him, but he was arrested within 2 hours of the case being reported as officers from Jurong Division established his identity through CCTV and ground enquiries.
The man will be charged in court on 17 March 2021 for housebreaking.
