MAN ARRESTED AFTER CLIMBING ON TO JURONG EAST TRAIN TRACK

Last night (July 6) a 57-year-old man was arrested after climbing onto the train track at Jurong East MRT station to pick up his mobile phone.

It is believed that the man accidentally dropped his phone while he was stepping out of the train.

The MRT driver that was approaching the station saw a man on the track and had to apply an emergency brake to stop the vehicle at around 10.15 PM

This resulted in a 5 minutes disruption.

The man has since been placing under arrest and under investigation by the Police.

SMRT would like to remind commuters to never trespass on the track as it could be very dangerous.
