According to a Police media release, a 46-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of mischief by fire.

The incident happened on 6 February, the police were alerted to the crime at 9.07pm. The caller stated that there was a fire at Block 72 Geylang Bahru.
With the aid of Police CCTV and ground enquiries, the man was arrested on 7 Febrary 2022 at around 1.40AM.
SCDF said that:
“The fire involved contents of a room in a unit on the first floor, The fire was extinguished by SCDFÂ using a fire extinguisher and compressed air foam backpack.”
Potential Penalties:
The man will be charged in court on 7 February 2022 with mischief by fire under Section 435 of the Penal Code 1871.
