A 23 year old man was charged after slashing another man at Sengkang on July 16. The incident happened at 3:10am at the void deck of 307 Anchorvale Road.
It was believed that a group of youths gathered at the void deck and were talking loudly before another young man showed up and quarreled with the group.
One of the individuals in the group took out a knife and slashed the young man in the back. Gang slogans was also heard prior to the attack by residents living in the area.
The group of youths ran away after the slashing occurred. A friend of the injured individual called the police. The police then proceeded to arrest the suspect at a HDB unit above where the attack took place.
The 23 year old man was charged in court on July 16 for causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
