Normal for single Singaporeans to wait until 35 to buy HDB? All while living with parents until 35.
I previously posted a similar question of co-owning with my mom so that I can buy HDB before I’m 35.
But that idea soon became “impossible” because my mom was worried that if I have her as a co-owner, and if I meet my Ms right in future, I would have to hand the flat to her as I cannot co-own 2 flats (1 with mother and 1 with wife), and if pass the flat to my mom, she’s going to burn into the retirement funds.
So back to this post.
Ok straight up I’m a “Un- handsome” dude so I’m probably not getting a GF let alone a wife in the coming years. But you’d never know right.. so how often do Singaporeans actually keep staying with parents all the way until they’re 35 if they’re single?
I did consider private but it doesn’t seem worth it, 1 is the price, 2 is I’d need to sell the private apartment and wait for awhile before I can head into resale HDB. And besides i still have more than 10 years before I turn 35, hence I can save more money which means I can get a bigger resale HDB.
