A 38-year-old foreign worker was sentenced to 2 months of jail after he was found guilty of voluntarily causing hurt to one of his dorm mates.

The incident happened on the 31 Aug 2020 around 11 am at Acacia Lodge dormitory located in Bukit Batok. The pair got into a heated argument over the drafting of a cooking roster. The man accused the victim of not cooking for the past 5 days.
Out of anger, the man swung a 4kg dumbbell at the victim causing him to suffer a 5 cm cut on his head. The victim was later sent to Ng Teng Feng Hospital for treatment.
The man sentence was backdated to the day where he was first remand on 02 Sep 2020. For his offence, the man could face a jail term up to 3 years and fined up to $5,000.
