Here is what he said

I recently made over $30k from crypto after investing in Ethereum back in April, and its price has been steadily increasing ever since.

I wanted to show off my success by buying a gold chain, and I thought going overseas to buy would be much cheaper than buying the gold chain in Singapore.

So I went to Bangkok all by myself to look for cheaper gold chains and also to unwind a little bit, get drinks and have a short holiday there.

I mingled with the locals and met a woman who told me that she deals with gold jewellery at prices lower than the market.

I then went with her to her shop bought a 24k “solid gold” handmade gold chain that was about 20 inches for about $220,000 baht (SGD$8,300+) and was very happy with my purchase.

I went around the bars wearing the huge chain on my shirt, feeling the eyes on me.

I came back to Singapore and continued wearing the gold chain whenever I went out, feeling very proud of myself and like I was on top of the world.

It is amazing how jewellery can boost a person’s self-confidence, even as a man.

It was not until 3 weeks later when the gold colour of the gold chain started fading off, did I realize that the “gold chain” that I spent $8.3k on was actually a fake.

And just like that, my self-confidence came tumbling down from the sky.

I went back to bkk to look for the woman who sold me the gold chain but I couldn’t find her, so i made a police report and returned to Singapore with my tail between my legs.
