He was also fined $3,000, failure to pay will result in an additional 2 weeks jail.

He had bought a stun device shaped like an iPhone to protect himself from his “enemies”.

What happened?

Aw bought a stun device online through Wish for $20 in August last year.

He then tested the device on himself and suffered pain and bruises.

He would then carry it with him when he went out, fully aware that it was illegal.

On 26 November, he got into an argument and fight with his girlfriend inside a taxi, he then took out the stun device and told her to keep quiet.

Upon reaching their flat in Ang Mo Kio, she called the police.

She mentioned that she was puzzled seeing Aw with 2 phones around, and that a customer at the coffeeshop where she worked told her that it might be a stun device.

Officers then discovered the device in Aw’s sling bag.

Aw then told the officers that it was a signal jammer instead, but couldn’t follow up on his lie with an explanation as to why he would need a signal jammer.

He then admitted that it was a stun device after it was tested on the spot, with the device producing a crackling spark.
