As I checked my bank account, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. There were multiple charges that I didn’t recognize, and they all seemed to be from my girlfriend’s favorite stores. I immediately knew what had happened: she had stolen my credit card.
I felt a mix of emotions wash over me. I was hurt and angry that she would do something like this to me, but I was also confused. Why would she steal from me? Didn’t she know that I loved her and would do anything for her?
Confrontation
I decided to confront her about it. I called her and asked her to come over to my place so we could talk. She sounded surprised and a little nervous on the phone, but she agreed to come over.
When she arrived, I sat her down and showed her the charges on my bank statement. She looked shocked and guilty, and I could tell that she knew she had been caught.
“I’m so sorry,” she said, tears streaming down her face. “I don’t know what I was thinking. I was just in a really tough spot and I needed some money. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
But then, something caught my eye. I noticed that one of the charges on the statement was from a jewellery store, and the amount was much higher than any of the other charges.
“What’s this?” I asked, pointing to the charge. “What did you buy at the jewellery store?”
She hesitated for a moment, and then the truth came out.
“It was a gold chain for him,” she said, her voice shaking. “I’m sorry, but I’ve been seeing someone else. I was going to tell you, but I didn’t know how. I didn’t mean for things to go this far.”
I felt a wave of shock and betrayal wash over me. Not only had she stolen from me, but she had also been cheating on me. I couldn’t believe that she would do this to me.
“How could you do this to me? How could you betray me like this?”
She looked at me with tears in her eyes. “I’m so sorry,” she said. “I never meant to hurt you. I love you, but I was in a tough spot and I didn’t know what else to do. Please, forgive me. I’ll do anything to make it up to you.”
But it was too late. I couldn’t forgive her for what she had done. She had stolen from me and cheated on me, and I couldn’t trust her anymore.
I told her to leave, and I didn’t see her again after that. It was a painful and difficult time, but I eventually moved on and found happiness without her.
Recently, I found out that she cheated on me because of a PRC man. The man has been scamming her and took almost all her money.
