TikTok user @bruceleekoh, who is apparently the owner of Three Crowns Jewellery and Watch Pte. Ltd, posted CCTV footage of a customer trying to sell a fake Audemars Piguet watch for $51,000.
The customer was seen walking into the store and being greeted by the shop owner as he placed his white paper bag on the table, saying he wishes to sell his watch.
The shop owner then examined the watch carefully, including scrutinizing the box of the watch, the straps and bezels of the timepiece and even the packaging.
He then told the man that the watch was fake about examining it for about 2 minutes, to which the customer asked him how he knew it was fake.
The exchange between the two men continued, during which the shopowner pointed out the CCTV cameras in his shop and mentioned the police.
The customer then explained how the watched belonged to another person who owed his girlfriend money and gave him the watch to sell.
The shop owner had none of it and pointed out that the entire conversation was being recorded on the CCTV.
The customer then pressed his palms together and begged the shop owner for forgiveness, swearing on his mother’s life that he didn’t know the Audemars Piguet watch was fake.
The shop owner continued pointing out the tell-tale giveaway signs of the counterfeit watch before letting him go with a warning, telling him not to try and sell the fake watch to other shops.
The two then shook hands before the customer left the shop.
