
A 28-year-old man was charged in court earlier today (19 Nov), for stealing a bra as well as his failure to report for an address change.
According to court documents, the man allegedly broke into a HDB unit located at Blk 424D Yishun Ave 11. The incident is said to have happened on 23 Jun 2020 between 2 am to 7 am.
What he stole
In the process, the man as stolen a bra that was worth $25 as well as 3 keys that was valued at $7.50.
He was also charged with attempting to break into the same unit on 04 Aug 2020 while he tried to enter the unit through the bathroom window.
Failure to report an address change
Separately, the man faces the charge of failing to report his change of address to the authorities as well. Under the National Registration Act, all NRIC holders are required to report a change of address to the authorities within a period of 28 days from the day they moved regardless of whether the address is in Singapore or not.
If Convicted
For his offence for housebreaking, the man could face a jail term up to 10 years and fine. For his failure to report an address change, he could face a jail term up to 5 years, fined up to $5,000 or both.
