Facebook user Vincent Ng Aeria recently took to Facebook to claim on how Robinson’s downfall was caused by the hiring of foreigners which ended with the sacking of many local working employees. He even claimed on how Robinsons hired many incompetent Filipinos to replace the locals that they terminated.

Wayne: “I worked at Robinsons for the last 10 years.. since the arabs Bought it over, they sacked all local GM and replaced them with their own people from Dubai company Al-Futtaim.. the whole of the Design Department, consists of approx 25 filipinos, who aren’t really competent and any Singaporean with the right skills and passion could do.
For years they’ve been using much cheap labour and sacking Singaporeans and using incompetent cheap foreign talent, Robinson’s started to crash. This is what happens when foreign labour is not kept in check.
Foreign tycoons buy local businesses, not caring for the livelihood of families but taking the whole thing as a monopoly ONLY and this closure is not because they’re bankrupt or anything but they simply don’t see how they can go back to local employees since they have been relying on foreigners since covid when most of the foreign staff went back to their countries.
Who’s to blame for this foreign influx? Our darling MOM and Minister for Manpower.”
They most have lost ten of millions in buying the group from Lippo. Lippo brought from OCBC. Robinsons has little assets but a famous brand – goodwill. Serve them right!
