MAN CONVICTED AFTER STABBING SON-IN-LAW AT BOON TAT STREET

Tan Nam Seng, 72, was charged for fatally stabbing his son-in-law at Boon Tat Street. He pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of culpable homicide.

Tan admitted to repeatedly stabbing 39 year old Spencer Tuppani at Boon Tat Street at 1.20pm on July 10, 2017. Tan was also seen kicking Tuppani in the face twice before chasing away passers-by.

It was believed that the reason for the stabbing was due to Tuppani’s affair which led to the divorce from Tan’s daughter. Tuppani had two children from the affair. Tan felt that Tuppani’s plan was to cheat hi of his business by divorcing his daughter after taking control of all their shares.

Sentencing is adjourned to a later date.
