According to a media release, Fino Foo Zhi Peng, 28, has pleaded guilty today (28 Aug) to one count of each of assault and rioting.
Foo has caused the death of a 31-year-old man Jeffrey Tan Junjie after Foo punched him in his face which causes his head to hit the ground whiling falling.
The incident happened on 16 Apr 2017 at around 4 am. The attack was triggered after Tan kicked Foo’s car. Foo and then alighted from his car and confronted Tan before punching Tan in the face. Foo’s friend also alighted his car and armed himself with a metal rod.
After seeing what happened 2 of Tan’s friend tried to help Tan out of the situation but they both were attacked by Foo and his friends. They only stopped the attacked after someone shouted at them.
Foo managed to flee the scene before the police arrived and the three men were sent to Singapore General Hospital for treatment. Sadly, Tan died three days after he was sent to the hospital.
5 people from Foo’s group has been charged with one sentenced to 15 months of jail. The 4 others have already pleaded guilty to their charges. Currently, Foo is out on bail of $20,000. His case was adjourned to 28 Sep 2020 for sentencing.
