Ever felt like giving up and quitting a stressful job to get a lower paid one without stress?

For context I am 30 and earning gross 6k including bonus which is not a lot. I give 1k to my parents all inclusive as they are retired and do not have much savings.
I do not plan to get married, since i prefer being single. Kind of gave up owning a house to be honest. No passion in my job and just scraping by. The stress makes me overeat and stopped exercising.
Has anyone ever wanted to give everything up and just be a lie down gen? I am tempted to just find a 3k plus job but am afraid of regreting my decisions

- Bro just tahan and suck it up, you can be stress free all you want when you retire with a fat bank account. Now is not the time to give up.
- By then he already ki siao and jump from HDB from the stress lo
- This is normal actually. There are already people taking up a less stressful job for a slightly lower pay. Health is always above everything including mental health.
- Planning to, I’m also 30, used to be ambitious and passionate but bcos of my health issues I can’t keep up anymore. I need to avoid stress or else my condition gets aggravated.
I think it’ll be worth it. An ex-colleague did the same thing and she’s so happy now. Dead end job, but zero stress and pay is ok-ish 4k+. I’m sure you can also find something easier yet pays decent?
Just plan our finances, spend less, retire abit later, we’ll be fine. - right there that might be the issue. convert your stress to lifting weight or punch someone on an mma class
- There are also jobs that are at 6K and less stressful. You don’t necessarily need to go down to 3K for less stress. My 3K job was the most stressful, and current job (same range as you) is the least stressful. There may even be higher paying jobs that are less stressful. Look around you at work, or a friend’s career that are higher salary range, do all of them look stressed out?
You might find that in Singapore, going down to 3K a month can quickly become slightly stressful, maybe your parents would be concerned. But if all parties are ok with it, nothing wrong then.
No one should regret removing the stressors in their life. You get your life back, better health and better mind can help you achieve way more in life than you’d expect. It is just too bad too few people opt to or can choose to do this.
