SCDF is often seen stopping fires, helping those who are medically in need and assisting the public all the time.
But sometimes, there are public servants who faced unreasonable people and end they sometimes could be victims of harassment.
Harassment
SCDF said in a media release that in 2021, SCDF personnel encountered at least 29 cases of verbal or physical harassment and stoping SCDF personnel from performing their duties.
In 2020, there were 17 such cases.
Peeing man
SCDF highlighted that on one incident that a patient started to become aggressive and refuse to cooperate with SCDF personnel.
The patient started to challenge an ambulance crew member to a fight, the patient then expose his penis and started peeing at the crew member.
The man was later sentenced to 12 months and 3 weeks in jail.
Spitting and Punching Man
SCDF shared another incident in 2020, an aggressive man refused to cooperate with a female ambulance personnel and started throwing punches.
The woman was punched in her chest and the patient also attempted to spit on her.
The man was setenced to 8 months in jail.
The Vulgar Pointer
In Apr 2021, a man started hurling vulgarities at a ambulance crew and pointed his middle finger at the crew.
The man was sentenced to 1 month and 3 days.
The Raging Feline
In May 2021, a angry patient started shouting at an ambulance crew and kicked and two crew in the stomach,arm and scratch a third person on the arm.
The patient was sentenced to 5 months 1 week jail.
One Punch Man
In Oct 2021, a aggressive patien started hurling vulgarities at an ambulance crew and punched the crew member in the face.
The patient was sentenced to 4 months 2 weeks 3 days jail.
