Lim Xu Sheng Shaun, 21-years-old, pleaded guilty on 17 November to one count of harassment and 4 counts of public nuisance.
He had taken 13 photos and 19 videos of 15 men inside public toilets relieving themselves across various shopping malls and public locations.
What happened?
On 7 March 2019, Lim was in a toilet at Sengkang Community Hub when he pointed his mobile phone at a 19-year-old male student using the urinal next to him.
The victim left the toilet quickly and confronted the man outside, finding a video of himself at the urinal on the man’s phone.
A security officer was informed of the incident and a police report was later made.
between 23 February and 7 March 2019, Lim took photos and videos of men using the toilet at Compass One Shopping Mall on 3 different occasions.
One of the incidents took place just hours before his filming of the 19-year-old student at Sengkang Community Hub, just opposite the Compass One Shopping Mall.
He also filmed two men urinating inside an NUS toilet on 25 February 2019.
He admitted to taking the videos during investigations and said that he would watch the videos for a few days before deleting them.
He explained that he was curious about guys and exploring his “s*xuality”.
A probation suitability report was called by district Judge Kessler Soh and Lim’s sentence is due to be passed on 15 December.
He is facing a potential jail term of up to 6 months, a fine of up to $5,000, or both; for the offence of harassment.
He is also facing a jail term of up to 3 months, a fine of up to $2,000 or both; for each offence of public nuisance
