A 62-year-old man was fined for $3,500 after pleading guilty to assault charges on the 26 Aug 2020.
According to the court document, the man was found guilty for assaulting 34-year-old Actress-Model Melissa Faith Yeo back in May 2019. On the day of the incident, both parties were returning home when they heard an argument at the void deck.
The argument was between a married couple and a father and son duo over a parking space. Both of them were there to see what was going on, but the actress somehow got involved in the argument later on.
When she saw the man there she assumed he is the relative of the father and son duo. She then told the son “Why do you need your father and uncle to back you up in a fight?”. The argument eventually ended after some of the residents told them off.
The actress then returns home and was attacked by the man at the lift lobby. After she was attacked, she went to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for treatment.
According to the law, for the man offence, he could be jailed for up to 2 years and fine up to $5,000.
