A 56-year-old man has been investigated by the police after he was found lodging a false police report.

It was reported that the man has made a police report yesterday (19 Nov) claiming that he was robbed by someone near Geylang Lorong 18 around midnight. After investigations, the police detected an inconsistency in the man’s statement.

Investigations against the man are ongoing.

According to the law, anyone found giving false information to a public servant could be jailed for up to a year, fine $5,000 or both.
