I want to share a story about my super spoiled girlfriend who believes in the commercialization of Valentines Day.
This is not the first time, she has displayed such behaviour of wanting everything to look good on Instagram.
She told me that she wants to have dinner at a good view at MBS or some high-end restaurant and gave me several choices which range from $888 to $1399 for a 5-course dinner for two. It’s not that I don’t have the money but I buy things based on value not how “instagrammable” the place is cause she just wants to show off.
Guess what she said to me?
“It’s a man duty to be able to shower their girlfriends with gifts and it is tradition for a woman to be pampered”
So I gave her my response:
“It’s a woman’s duty to stay at home and be able to cook in the kitchen and bear me a child and clean the house and feed me food when I’m hungry. It’s a tradition your saying right?
I told her, I can fulfil all the above she just said but can she fulfil everything I said?
She comes and tells me it’s different bla bla bla, I told her end of the day she just wants to show off on her Instagram with some cringy body posture macham she is Miss Universe and hold a glass of wine she does not even know how to appreciate and acting “atas”.
I eventually broke off with her, I would prefer a down to earth woman and be able to judge something based on personal liking and value. Not the views of others, We live ourselves not for the sake of other people’s opinions.
Imagine you marry this kind no matter what and how much you do will never be enough as she will go on and on to outshine herself to those around her.
This is called living in an illusion. I rather marry a plain jane than a “vase”.
