According to a media release, a 21-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in causing hurt to others with a dangerous weapon.
The police were alerted to a case where a man was purportedly attacked by another man with a pocket knife along West Coast Drive on 17 Jan 2021 at around 10 pm. It was reported that the victim was hospitalised after he suffered from minor injuries from the attack.
Through ground enquires and the help of police CCTV, the police managed to identify the identity of the attacker and arrested him on 21 Jan 2021. It is said that both men do not know each other and the attack was triggered after a dispute between both parties.
The man was charged in court with voluntarily causing hurt to others with a dangerous weapon on 23 Jan 2021. If convicted the attacker could be jailed for up to 7 years, or fined or caned or any combination of the three.
