
According to a media release, a 56-year-old man is investigated by the police for lodging a false police report.
The man had filed a police report on the 09 Aug 2020 claiming that he was robbed by an unknown man along Jurong West Street 63. The item that he was robbed was a haversack bag containing cash and watches which worth up to $333,000.
After investigation, the police found that there were inconsistencies in the man statement which was pointing at the man for giving false information.
Investigations are ongoing.
According to the law, anyone found guilty of providing false information to a public servant could be jailed for up to 12 months, fined up to $5,000 or both.
