MAN JAILED FOR OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE, ASSISTED TO DISCARD BLOOD-STAINED SHIRT

Loo Boon Chong 27, was sentenced to 5 months of jail after he was found guilty of obstructing justice. It was reported that the man has assisted to discard a blood-stained T-shirt that belongs to Tan Sen Yang the alleged killer of the Orchard Tower murder.

Loo was originally charged with murder but his charge was later reduced on 11 Jul 2019.

According to the court documents, Loo was not involved in the attack of the victim. He was on the ground floor at the time of the incident. However, he and the rest of the group left the scene together after the incident.

Tan then went to Loo’s place to take a shower and asked Loo for a new top to change as his shirt was stained with blood. Tan then leaves Loo place shortly after but he has left his blood-stained shirt in Loo’s bedroom.

Knowing that the shirt was a piece of evidence, Loo brought the shirt out of his house and discarded it rubbish chute along the common corridor.

According to the law, anyone convicted of obstructing justice could be jailed up to 7 years and/or fined.
