MAN JAILED FOR PUNCHING WIFE & THREATENING TO KILL HER BF

Yap June Siong, 30, was jailed for seven months after he pleaded guilty to criminal intimidation and causing hurt.

Yap who was undergoing divorce proceedings with his wife, punched her repeatedly when she refused to call her boyfriend. Yap said “Call that man, if he does not die then both of us will die”, before reaching for a chopper. When she tried to called the police, he locked his arm around her neck and rained punches on her.

“Grab her from staircase to unit”

Yap’s wife managed to escape, but Yap grabbed the chopper and place it on the floor of the living room before chasing after his wife. He managed to catch his wife and dragged her all the way from the staircase back to the unit.

Due to the incident, the victim suffer multiple injuries on her back, neck, arms and legs.

The maximum punishment for criminal intimidation and causing hurt, is a maximum of 15 years jail and a fine.
