A 50-year-old man was sentenced to six weeks of jail after he was found guilty of throwing flower pots and sound system down from the fourth floor of a HDB flat. The man was charged with committing a rash act endangering the safety of others.
Apparently, the man was drunk when he committed the offence. He was upset that he was scolded by his landlady and not allowing him to buy flowers for his religious offering. He then became stressed after receiving letters from two licensed moneylenders.
Out of frustration, the man then threw a sound system out of the kitchen window before proceeding to the corridor and threw four flower pots over the parapet. The police were alerted by a passerby who was walking his dog at that time.
